Living the Life

Many have seen it. Some of them have lived it. And I just ended up being obsessed with it.

As usual I neglected the excitement everyone seemed to share about the new ‘it’-colour mint. But then, already then I could have told myself that it would certainly become my all favourite colour at some point.
And of course too late.

It started out when I insisted on painting the walls in our new apartment in ‘light mint’ to make it look more royalistic. My rather untraditional idea was accepted, though almost every apartment in Denmark has standard white wall clear wallpaper. As a reward I came up with maybe the best name for an apartment ever: “The Mint Penthouse”. And the mint obsession began.

Now everything mint-coloured is pretty, no matter what it is.

The fact is that I lost the track of thoughts that kept me on posting.
And then I forgot to keep the head over the water.
And now I am overanalyzing my use of metaphors in the previous two sentences, which actually leads me back to the whole change that happened during the past half a year. The writing has for me become all about saying something the right way instead of being a channel to process as much new information as possible. Or on a very uninspirational day something that just needs to be done.
As big a change as I think it is it might not have the greatest impact in here.
Let’s see.
Anyway I’m back.

The august will definitely be a busy month for me. I have been filling in my calender with loads of cultural events and here it goes:

3. august Timbuktu in Tivoli
4. august RAW at Docken HERE

6.-12. august Copenhagen City Dance in Politigården HERE
9. august StarGoesCandy concert at Soho Hotel HERE
10. august Mission Impossible – Ghost Protocol at Zulu Bio, Charlottenlund Beach The Whole Program HERE
16. august – 1. september Summer Ballet at Bellevue Theatre HERE
30. august Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close at Zulu Bio, Søndermarken The Whole Program HERE
31. august – 2. september Trailerpark Festival HERE

It’s going to be an awesome month! Can’t wait!

I’m getting more and more motivated. I have exactly 15 days to write a top notch application for a university far far away. Suddenly it’s the only thing I am thinking of and suits me well, because as I’m getting older I should get more rational and find the call. Now I am pretty sure I’ve chosen the right way.

p.s. I’ve also been thinking more than I probably should about what I would do with myself if “The Vampire Diaries” tv-series suddenly stopped. It’s a terrifying thought. I am addicted to Damon Salvatore. But it’s another story.

My birthday is coming up this weekend, and as much as I’ve been talking about it, it is in a new spirit. This year it is not the awaiting of presents that symbolizes the day. Neither it is a theme party, that’s going to fill the weekend. This time I am just looking forward to a day without work, eating a lot of tasty stuff and being with the people I love. But it wouldn’t be quite true if I didn’t mention that I’m also going to think that it’s My and only My day and that I’m going to dress up/dress pretty big time!

My birthday wishes moodboard:

Leggings a la these with some kind of Adidas print, I’ve browsed internet looking for exactly these ones for many hours, no luck.

For fashion people it will be all about fashion week from the Wednesday on. I will not participate this time and it’s funny because: it begins to be rather trendy NOT to be interested in fashion(week) amongst my friends. When I started going to shows a couple of years ago, we would give a-ny-thing for getting in to a show, getting on a list for a party or even be quite excited for a shop reception. And I don’t need to tell you about hours, spent in front of a mirror, setting up just the right ensembles, that could easily could go for a dress up. We may have missed it sometimes and I bet some people had a good laugh, but as fearless as we were, looking straight forward and a bit up, none of us ever cared.
But if none of us stands up to being called fashionistas, following the trends and obsessing with the fashionweek, because our style is influenced by art, music and most of all, ourselves, then we per definition must be hipsters? But isn’t it the only thing you don’t want to be called (aloud) in Copenhagen at the moment? Still wondering…

My fashionweek moments:

one of the rules: you never follow the weather, your outfit was planned a month ago and you will be rather sipping an icecold beer at 10am than wearing something lighter
it was about 30 degrees, and I was dying!

stick out! don’t wear black, pose and remember that fur!

at home, brunch, just woke up, remembered it’s fashion week and put a hat on!

still waking up, sugar shot

checking fab credibility, in need of double camera equipment

last day of the fashionweek, still dressed to impress, but more hooded.. the only thing needed: GIGANTIC sunglasses, it rained but still, do you re-a-lly think that we wear sunglasses against the sun?!

yes, she pulled the Wang style, and were lucky enough to one the sunglasses

Fashion Week, we had our good time, now feel free to take other youngsters, convert them to the Vogue religion, get them drunk, continuously hungry with your mini cupcakes and maybe already exhausted and DONE with the whole fashion thing after three days. Thank you and good bye!
